Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 20, 2026

("the App," "we," "us," or "our") provides a dynamic product configurator and custom options engine ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their online stores. This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies when you install and use the App.

This Cookie Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By installing or using the App, you consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies as described in this policy.

Section 1 — What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use a web application. Cookies are widely used to make websites and applications work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the owners of the website or application.

Cookies may be "session cookies" (which expire when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). Cookies may be set by the website or application you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by a third party ("third-party cookies").

Section 2 — How We Use Cookies

The App operates within the Shopify admin panel as an embedded application and on your storefront through a theme app extension. Our use of cookies is limited to what is necessary for the App to function properly and to improve your experience.

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the App to operate. Without them, the App cannot function as intended. They include:

  • Shopify Session Cookies — Shopify places session cookies to authenticate your identity when you access the Shopify admin panel. These cookies verify that you are an authorized store owner or staff member and maintain your authenticated session. The App relies on Shopify's OAuth 2.0 authentication and inherits these session cookies.
  • App Proxy Cookies — When storefront requests are routed through Shopify's App Proxy to serve configurator data on your product pages, Shopify may set cookies to validate the request origin and maintain the proxy session.
  • CSRF Protection — Cookies or tokens may be used to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks when you submit forms within the App (such as creating configurators, updating settings, or managing custom fields).

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable the App to remember your choices and provide enhanced functionality:

  • App Preferences — Cookies or local storage may be used to remember your App settings and preferences, such as currency selection, button customization values (background color, text color, font size, border radius, width, and height), and display preferences.
  • Configurator State — When your customers interact with a multi-step product configurator on your storefront, cookies or local storage may be used to preserve their progress, field selections, and option choices as they navigate between steps.
  • Navigation State — Cookies may be used to remember your navigation context within the App, such as which configurator, section, or field management page you were last viewing.

2.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand how the App is used and to improve its performance:

  • Feature Usage — We may track which features of the App are most frequently used (such as the number of configurators created, templates applied, or pricing rules configured) to prioritize development efforts and improve the user experience.
  • Error Monitoring — Cookies or logging mechanisms may be used to capture and report technical errors within the App, such as failed API requests or rendering issues, to help us diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Performance Metrics — We may collect performance data (such as page load times and API response times) to optimize the App's speed and reliability.
We do not use analytics cookies to track you across third-party websites. Analytics data is collected solely within the context of the App and your Shopify store.

Section 3 — Third-Party Cookies

The App integrates with Shopify and may trigger the placement of third-party cookies by Shopify or its infrastructure providers. These cookies are governed by Shopify's own cookie and privacy policies, and we do not control their placement or content.

Third-party cookies that may be present include:

We do not place advertising or marketing cookies. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertisements or to track your browsing activity across other websites or applications.

Section 4 — Cookies on Your Storefront

When the App's theme app extension is active on your storefront, the following technologies may be used in your customers' browsers:

4.1 Local Storage and Session Storage

The product configurator JavaScript component may use the browser's local storage or session storage to:

  • Store the customer's field values and option selections as they navigate through configurator steps
  • Cache configurator template data to reduce API calls and improve loading performance
  • Remember the customer's progress within a multi-step configuration flow
  • Store calculated pricing data temporarily during the configuration session

4.2 Storefront API Requests

When a customer interacts with a configurator, the App makes API requests through Shopify's App Proxy to retrieve configurator data, calculate pricing, and save configurations. These requests may involve Shopify-managed cookies for request validation and routing.

4.3 No Customer Tracking

We do not use cookies, local storage, or any other tracking technology on your storefront to track your customers' browsing behavior, build customer profiles, or serve targeted advertising. Data collected through the configurator is limited to what is necessary to render the configurator interface, calculate pricing, and process the customer's product configuration.

Section 5 — Managing Cookies

5.1 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically view, delete, or block cookies. Please note that blocking Shopify's session cookies will prevent you from accessing the Shopify admin panel and the App.

Google ChromeSettings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
Mozilla FirefoxSettings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
SafariPreferences > Privacy > Cookies
Microsoft EdgeSettings > Privacy & Security > Cookies

5.2 Clearing Local Storage

To clear data stored in your browser's local storage or session storage by the storefront configurator, you can:

  • Use your browser's developer tools (typically accessible via F12) to clear site data
  • Clear your browser's browsing data, selecting "site data" or "local storage" options

Section 6 — Cookie Duration

Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or until you delete them manually.

Section 7 — Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites and applications that you do not wish to be tracked. There is currently no uniform standard for interpreting DNT signals. The App does not track users across third-party websites regardless of whether a DNT signal is sent, so no additional action is taken in response to DNT signals.

Section 8 — Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by Shopify merchants who are at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children through cookies or any other means. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately.

Section 9 — International Considerations

9.1 European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom

If you are a merchant or customer located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we comply with applicable cookie consent requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent as they are essential for the App to function. For non-essential cookies, we obtain consent as required by applicable law.

9.2 California

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal information collected through cookies.

Section 10 — Changes to This Cookie Policy

We reserve the right to update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you through in-app notifications or email.

Your continued use of the App after changes to this Cookie Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Section 11 — Contact Information
